Prologue Films is a motion-graphics design company specializing in film and broadcast work. There, she took on various roles including designer and producer for a number of film, television, and advertising projects, including acclaimed graphic sequences for the films Se7en and Mimic, Netscape, and the Academy Awards. In 2003, Kimberly joined her husband, Kyle Cooper, in founding Prologue Films. Utilizing her skills as a producer and artist, she oversees the company’s projects and manages its business affairs. Under her guidance, Prologue has experienced rapid growth and successfully established itself as a creative force under the highest echelon.Kimberly’s ongoing involvement with the Academy Awards is among her most valued contributions. For the past seven years, she has creatively directed and produced the awards broadcast’s graphics package (totaling nearly 1000 deliverables annually) as well as many filmed and live performance features. Her revolutionary work has been recognized with two Emmy nominations. Alongside Laura Ziskin, Kimberly has also dedicated her efforts to the Stand Up to Cancer Foundation. She acted as co-creative director with her husband, Kyle Cooper, designing the graphics packages, screens, sets and apparel for the Foundation. Kimberly’s t-shirt designs for Stand Up to Cancer have become the highest grossing product for the Foundation. More recently, she creative directed a complete branding experience for ASB.TV. This included the fashioning of pilot helmets for the Horsemen P51 Team, logos, bus branding, episodes, trailers, plane designs, widgets, and an innovative software platform called Blackbox that will enable ASB.TV to launch their new network only on the web. Kimberly is now creating a new department called Prologue Visual Technology and teaming up with ASB.TV and Blackbox to expand this software to other networks and companies such as CNN and the United States Military. In recent times, requests for Visual Effects Sequences have poured into Prologue, providing a means for the company to expand its design solutions. Visual Effects Sequencing is much more than VFX. There are a number of key components to an unforgettable sequence. Both a story and mental message need to be conveyed and this is where Prologue’s thinking and VFXS design come in. Prologue’s VFXS can be experienced while watching Across the Universe, Iron Man & Iron Man 2, Tron, Sherlock Holmes, and The Tempest by Julie Taymor. Most recently, Prologue was hired to work on the 3D Stereoscopic VFX sequences for Disney’s film Tron. Kimberly is focused on Prologue’s growth and fulfilling its mission to blaze new trails both artistically and as a creative enterprise. Currently, she is working on expanding the company by opening offices in Hollywood and New York. She recently launched a new division called Prologue Pictures with Alex Dervin and Kurt Mattila, creators of the pre-cog murder sequences in Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report. This division will be defined by the production of original content and live action. Its first project is called Avatar Spirits: The Last Airbender Documentary. Kimberly Cooper resides in Pacific Palisades, CA with her husband and their four children.
