Student Showcase
Do you have students in your program that consistently stretch their artistic and technical boundaries? Celebrate student accomplishments and show off what your programs are doing by showcasing at Fast Forward/2014.
The iDMAa Student Showcase is a great opportunity for programs to recognize students who are pushing the boundaries of digital art and design, and is open to all academic programs focusing on digital media instruction. All submitted work will be exhibited at the Student Showcase during the conference, via provided wall space, monitors, and tables. Each program’s faculty will work with students to pre-select projects that reflect innovation and creativity in the application of if digital art and design. Submissions can be made in any/all of the following showcase divisions:
DIGITAL ART & DESIGN
Works of digital art in all media including but not limited to, individual or team-based student digital design, illustration, interactive works; animation; video/film; installations, game art, and 3D modeling.
DIGITAL MEDIA RESEARCH
Posters and project displays, and demonstrations of new research in Digital Media technologies and applications.
GAME DESIGN
Complete games and working prototypes. Game projects must have been completed within the last 2 years by students whose graduation date falls between 2014 and 2018.
AWARDS
Awards for Digital Art & Design, Research in Digital Media, and Game Design, and an overall Jury Showcase Award for a program exhibiting the best overall showcase will be presented at the conference. Outstanding student work and programs will be selected by a panel of distinguished jurors at the conference.
SUBMISSION
Faculty may submit up to ten images (or URLs for time-based/interactive work). If submitting time-based/interactive work, please use a screenshot as your image, and include the URL in the image description.
While the cost for submission is $35 (a one-time, non-refundable credit card payment), the showcase fee for a department/program is $300. After paying the $35 fee, you will have $265 left to pay (you will see this as an option fee, titled “Student Showcase Participation Fee (for School Departments)”. This fee will reserve your spot in the showcase, and allow your department and students to be eligible for the above mentioned student showcase awards. This feel also allows iDMAa to to cover miscellaneous costs involved with the exhibition (see above) and help to continue to offer professional artistic exhibitions and showcases.
