Fast Forward 2013 - LCAD

The main campus for Laguna College of Art and Design is located in Laguna Canyon, minutes from the beachside community near Laguna Coast Wilderness Park. Celebrating 52 years since its founding, this private college offers extensive foundation programs in five undergraduate majors and a graduate department. Bachelor of Fine arts degrees give thorough preparation in drawing and painting, illustration, graphic design, animation, and game art. The graduate program awards a Master of Fine Arts in both Drawing and Painting. The college also offers a Post-baccalaureate certificate in Drawing and Painting.

From the student perspective, LCAD provides a unique education experience. With a current enrollment of 486 students and small class sizes, students receive intense and personal instruction. In addition to a strong figurative and representational focus, the college emphasizes the application of these foundations in emerging digital media, entertainment art, and communication art. Students also receive exposure to cultural opportunities including programs with the Florence Academy of Art and the Communication University of China (Beijing). With Los Angeles an hour away, LCAD students are also close to museums, galleries, the entertainment industry, and graphic design studios.
