2015 East Tennessee State University

Breaking Barriers
Whether it is breaking through that glass ceiling, breaking into a new career, breaking out of expected roles, or breaking those old ideas about digital art, we are going to explore what it means to be a digital artist, digital media professional, and arts and media educator in a time when everything, even how we learn and do business, is being reinvented.
It’s all about identifying barriers to success and finding creative new ways to break through them.
iDMAa is pleased to host its thirteenth national conference at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. ETSU sits on 340 beautiful acres in the shadow of Buffalo and Cherokee Mountains and is home to many unique programs such as Bluegrass & Old Time Music, Storytelling, and Appalachian Studies. Our conference will take place during the peak of the autumn leaf show!
The conference will open on Wednesday afternoon, October 21st, with thought-provoking presentations followed by a social mixer to open the IDEAs Show and the Student Showcase. There will be two more days of keynotes, lively presentations and topical discussions focused on the future of digital media and evolving pedagogies, some friendly competition, expanded student programming, and a trade show featuring some swell new digital technologies. The conference will close with a banquet to honor the achievements of iDMAa members and other academic and industry innovators.
This year’s conference will also feature optional Saturday hands-on workshops and activities for those who would like to stay over and get more from their visit to Johnson City!
Save the date and plan on joining us for what we hope will be our most exciting conference yet!
