Student Showcase 2015

Student Showcase 2015

The Deadline for entry is October 1st 2015.
We will start accepting submissions September 1st.

In the meantime, it’s not too early to start planning. Let your students know about the opportunity for them to submit their work. Start creating the documentation for the projects you plan to exhibit. Gather together the best student projects before they disappear with their creators for the summer.

If the students in your program are consistently going above and beyond to stretch artistic and technical boundaries, celebrate their accomplishments! Give them a chance to show off what they, and your program, can do.

About the Showcase
The iDMAa Student Showcase is a great opportunity for programs to recognize students who are consistently producing exceptional work within the digital disciplines, and is open to all academic programs focusing on digital media instruction.

Faculty can work with students to pre-select projects to showcase those which reflect creative accomplishment. All of the work submitted will be exhibited at the Showcase in October, 2015.

Showcase Divisions
Digital Art & Design
Art of course can be widely defined. The digital arts in all disciplines can be submitted, including but not limited to individual or team-based student digital design, illustration, interactive works, animation, video/film, installations, game art, 3D modeling, and/or digitally produced audio.

Digital Media Research
Posters, project displays, and demonstrations of new research in Digital Media technologies and applications.

Game Design Competition
As part of the student showcase, IDMAA will be hosting an academic Game Design and Development competition. Details of the completion itself will be sent separately, but as has been done in the past, we expect to have industry professionals on site to judge and hand out awards for the best overall game projects.

Awards will be given in each category, and an overall institution program award, based on projects exhibited at the conference, will be granted.

Exhibition Fees
We now have reduced fees for single entries and smaller showcases.
$30.00: each submission if submitted by a student
$50.00: each submission if submitted by a department
$300.00: entire showcase (6 or more entries) from a single department

Our exhibition space at East Tennessee State University will be used for both IDEAS, and the student showcase. Please let us know of your program’s intent to exhibit as early as you can, as this will assist in planning our space.
