Keynote: LINDSAY GRACE OCT 21 1:00PM

Lindsay Grace, professor and founding director of the American University Game Lab and Studio, will be the opening keynote speaker for this year’s conference!
Lindsay Grace is a professor, game designer and researcher. He is founding director of the American University Game Lab and Studio, a top 25 graduate program in game design as ranked by the Princeton Review.
Wait, his 2013 game, was selected for the 10th Anniversary Games for Change Festival’s Hall of Fame, as one of the 5 best games for social impact in the last decade. His game designs have received awards and recognition from not only the Games for Change Festival, Meaningful Play Conference, ACM SIGGRAPH Digital Arts Community and others. He has published more than 40 papers, articles and book chapters on games and digital design. His creative work has been selected for showcase in more than seven countries and 12 states. Lindsay’s career includes teaching more than 80 courses and more than 30+ presentations in Asia, the Americas and Europe. He has spoken at SXSW and the Game Developer’s Conference (GDC) and has been interviewed by Al Jazeera’s the Stream, the associated press, varied public radio stations and national media outlets. He has also organized and curated digital art exhibits at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Leuphana University (Germany) and others. His work has been funded by the Knight Foundation, National Institutes of Mental Health, Educational Testing Service (ETS) and Procter and Gamble. Lindsay has served industry as an independent consultant, web designer, software developer, entrepreneur, business analyst and writer. For fun he races two cars in SCCA autocross competitions.
