The Theatre, Cinema and Dance department at Missouri Western State University invites applications for a Cinema faculty position beginning August 2014. Candidate will teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and should possess a well-developed research agenda that will inform and advance current trends in the field through creative production, experimentation, collaboration, exhibition and publication. The successful candidate will teach classes that may include, but are not limited to: Cinematography, Lighting, Advanced Editing, Sound, Film Theory and Intro to Video Production. Expertise is required in the use of Apple Final Cut Pro X and Adobe Premier, as well as digital cameras including the DSLR and Red Cameras. Faculty responsibilities include preparing students for professional careers in the field of film and television production and mentoring students with individual and class projects. This position requires maintaining an active professional profile in film, television and media production, participating in departmental activities including film festivals, committee work, faculty collaboration, recruitment and program leadership.
REQUIRED: M.F.A. in film, video or related field.
PREFERRED: Experience teaching film and video courses on the college-level and professional experience in narrative film-making.
Candidates should possess a strong interest in collaborative work and curriculum development in an interdisciplinary graduate program. Employment is contingent upon proof of the legal right to work in the U.S. An appointment is not final until all documents are provided.
