About the iDMAa

The iDMAa was born in March 2003, at a workshop in Orlando, Florida. Representatives of fourteen universities enthusiastically voted to form the International Digital Media and Arts Association in order to learn from one another and to assist others as they pursue their own paths into the digital unknown.

The iDMAa is the first association of its kind devoted solely to academic programs and industry partners involved in digital media and arts. The iDMAa is centrally concerned with all things digital, whether it be digital video, music, digital art, web design, interactivity, 3D animation, AI, digital imaging, distance learning, immersive environments, information systems, etc.

Founding universities include: University of Central Florida; University
of Denver; University of California, Los Angeles; Columbia College in Chicago;
Stetson University; Florida State University; Carnegie Mellon; State University
of New York; University of Montana; University of Florida; Union University;
University of Warwick in England; University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; University
of Georgia; and Ball State University.
